Abstract

Sexuality is a basic need of the human being and is linked to aspects of life such as affectivity, discoveries, sexual experiences, which motivates a person to have intimacy with another, that is, the pleasure generated from them. Objective: understand the importance of sexuality and multidisciplinary strategies in the area of ​​sexuality. Methodology: this work was developed through bibliographical research, with a qualitative and descriptive. Results: The most common sexual problems include sexual desire, arousal, ejaculation and female orgasm, with factors such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and aging contributing to decreased desire. The importance of multidisciplinary monitoring is emphasized, along with strategies that involve psychotherapeutic approaches, cognitive-behavioral therapy and couples therapy, considering the life history of the individual and the couple. Furthermore, the effectiveness of physiotherapy in the treatment of sexual dysfunctions stands out, highlighting the need to raise awareness among health professionals about this less explored area in relation to sexuality.
