IMPLEMENTATION OF FIRST AID IN A BASIC SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT: A LITERATURE REVIEW

Abstract

The initial period after an accident is crucial for implementing procedures that prevent aggravating injuries to the victim's health. In this context, the use of actions known as first aid can avoid sequelae and increase the probability of survival. The present article demonstrates that the learning of such techniques carried out in the process of pedagogical development, due to brain neuroplasticity in individuals at school, can result in effective health promotion actions. aid can prevent damage, in a way that understands the effectiveness of introducing teaching in the student environment, describes the consequences of the lack of this learning at such a time and establishes modes of didactic applicability of first aid. The study is a literature review, through a critical analysis of materials found on platforms found in the Virtual Health Library (VHL). The filters used were: Portuguese, last 10 years and the exclusion criteria were literature that did not provide the research target. Regarding the discussion, it is evident that inexperience in carrying out primary relief actions can worsen the situation of people in need of such care, which highlights the need for learning first aid in schools, an act that can be carried out by teachers prepared through active methods such as doll simulations. Therefore, it was concluded that knowledge of first aid is essential in the quest to save lives and that its learning can be more beneficial when taught in schools.
