Abstract

Due to the contemporary lifestyle many people are sleeping less and less. Given this fact, this article aimed to analyze, through a collection of specialized literature, information about the impact of sleep deprivation on memory and learning in young people and adults. A narrative literature review was carried out with research in the Google Scholar database and selected articles on the topic published from 2020 to 2024, in Portuguese and English, with free access and full text. Paid articles and articles with incomplete text were excluded. At the end of the analysis, 12 texts were selected, along with access to a related website and book. It was concluded that sleep deprivation is closely related to memory and learning impairments, as well as the systemic development of various health problems.
