Abstract

The present work aims to report the experience lived by students at the medical school of the Centro Universitário de Mineiros – UNIFIMES, Trindade-GO campus, in the construction of critical thinking, diagnostic elaboration and medical procedures based on the discussion of related clinical cases with didactic content. Of twenty-three students submitted to the method, 19 responded to a questionnaire spontaneously, available for public consultation. One hundred percent of the students who responded to the questionnaire agreed that they were confident in mastering the content to care for a real patient who presented some pathology related to the topics studied. The results indicated that learning based on the discussion of clinical cases had a positive impact on students' levels of engagement, satisfaction, self-confidence and performance.
