This study reports the experience of anthropometric assessment in children aged 1 to 4 years enrolled in Municipal Early Childhood Education Centers (CMEI) in the Trindade-GO region. The project aimed to analyze the children's nutritional status while promoting educational activities on healthy eating for parents, educators, and professionals within the institutions. The methodology included measuring weight, height, abdominal circumference, thoracic circumference, and head circumference, in addition to providing guidance on eating habits and childhood obesity prevention. Despite initial resistance from some guardians in authorizing data collection, a significant sample of children was assessed, allowing for a more accurate diagnosis of the nutritional situation. The results showed variations in the body mass index (BMI) in the analyzed CMEI, highlighting the need for specific nutritional interventions in each institution. The project demonstrated the importance of continuous monitoring of children's health, emphasizing the relevance of early childhood nutrition education in preventing future comorbidities. This experience reinforces the need for interdisciplinary actions involving educators, healthcare professionals, and families to promote healthy development.
