Associação de fissuras labiopalatinas e assimetrias cranianas não sinostóticas em lactentes de 0 a 12 meses

O presente estudo teve como objetivo investigar a associação entre os tipos de fissura labiopalatina (FLP) e a presença de assimetrias cranianas não sinostóticas (ACNS) em lactentes de 0 a 12 meses. Trata-se de um estudo observacional, quantitativo, realizado em um centro de referência em anomalias craniofaciais do sul do Brasil, no período de março de 2024 a agosto de 2025, incluindo 54 lactentes com diagnóstico de FLP. As fissuras foram classificadas segundo os critérios de Spina et al., (1972) enquanto as ACNS foram avaliadas por craniometria, utilizando o Índice Cefálico (IC) e o Índice de Assimetria Craniana (CVAI). A análise estatística foi realizada por meio do teste exato de Fisher, adotando-se nível de significância de 5%. Observou-se que 53,7% da amostra apresentou algum grau de ACNS, com predominância de formas leves. Não foi identificada associação estatisticamente significativa entre o tipo ou a lateralidade da FLP e a presença ou lateralidade das ACNS. Entretanto, verificou-se maior proporção de ACNS em lactentes com fissura pós-forame. Conclui-se que, embora não haja associação estatística entre os tipos de FLP e as ACNS, a prevalência dessas assimetrias sugere relevância clínica, reforçando a importância da avaliação fisioterapêutica precoce e periódica dos lactentes com FLP.
