Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus ssp.) has played a key role in the Brazilian economy since the early 20th century. However, the monoculture system associated with its cultivation has been the subject of debate in scientific literature regarding its environmental impacts on the soil. Based on a narrative literature review, this study aims to identify points of agreement and disagreement among authors. The findings reveal that monoculture can cause negative impacts on the soil, on the other hand, part of the literature highlights the benefits of this species associated with it. Thus, this study highlights that the Brazilian scientific literature lacks longitudinal studies, suggesting that researchers in the field focus on this approach to consolidate a better understanding of the issue, so that the population has access to the necessary information.
