ADVERSE CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES AND ITS INFLUENCE ON OBESITY

Abstract

The objective of this work is to approach the obesity theme, reporting how Adverse Childhood Experiences (EAI) can collaborate for weight gain, using as a base, the study started in 1995, called ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences). The theme is of great importance, as the body composition reflects the state of health, both in terms of physical condition, as well as psychological aspects, from childhood to adulthood. Articles from the Scielo, Pubmed, PsycInfo and Google Scholar databases were used, with terms related to obesity, adverse childhood experiences, ACE study, and Adverse Childhood. The preparation of this work sought to gather information from the beginning of the ACE study, to the present day. The article is a literature review, in order to warn that traumatic experiences in childhood may develop chronic diseases in the future
