NECROPSIES PERFORMED ON WILD ANIMALS IN THE SECOND SEMESTER OF 2023 AT THE MINEIROS UNIVERSITY CENTER (UNIFIMES)

Abstract

The necropsy is a fundamental tool for diagnosis iof main diseases in a veterinarian routine of a region. With the objective of estimate the mais causes of death of wild animals, a survey of done diagnoses carried out was made at Mineiros, Goiás region. To estipulate which species was the most recurrent and which most frequent diagnosis in necropsied wild animals at Animal Pathology sector of the University Center from Mineiros, it was revised the necropsy protocols of the months between august to december of 2023. It was totalizes twenty-one (21) necropsies, which 9 (42,85%) in production animals, 6 (28,57%) in wild animals and 6 (28,57%) in companion animals. It was observed high prevalency of cases by politraumatism in wild animals (66,6% of diagnosis in these species), what does it indicate the high percentual of run overs of these animals on road networks at the region of Cerrado biome.
