This article is a development of a scientific initiation research that investigates teaching work and the phenomenon of hyperconnection in higher education, focusing on understanding the challenges and possibilities faced by teachers and students immersed in digital culture. The research is based on scientific evidence pointing towards a distinct future of work, influenced by digital technologies and their transformations. A literature review was conducted in the databases of the Capes Periodical Portal, Scielo, and Google Scholar, resulting in the selection of relevant productions addressing the impact of mobile devices, such as smartphones, on school and university education, as well as the challenges faced by teachers in the face of students' hyperconnection. The analyzed studies highlight the complexity of contemporary digital culture, where the intersection between real and digital space is inevitable, demanding an approach that recognizes this hybridization. The conclusions point to the need to rethink the relationship between technology and education, recognizing both the potential and challenges presented by this integration. The results of these analyses indicate the importance of innovating educational practices in line with the demands of contemporary society, recognizing the significant influence of digital technologies on the space-time of the classroom. In summary, the research aims to contribute to the understanding and adaptation of teaching work in the midst of technological transformations, aiming to improve the teaching and learning process in higher education.
