THE CHALLENGES OF SUPERVISION IN THE FACE OF THE INCREASE IN ANIMAL ABANDONMENT IN BRAZIL

The number of abandoned animals in Brazil has been growing steadily, causing severe harm to both public health and animal welfare. With the lack of monitoring, the lack of awareness among the population and the financial difficulties faced by owners, this problem has grown in a worrying and uncontrolled manner in the country. The objective of the research is to understand the challenges faced by monitoring in view of the increase in animal abandonment in Brazil. It is essential to reflect on the difficulties of more effective action by the responsible agencies. It is also necessary to find ways to strengthen and increase the protection of animal life. The methodology of this study consists of a bibliographic review on current legislation, data analysis and identification of challenges. The conclusion is that the proposal presented tends to strengthen monitoring and the protection of animal rights, ensuring the applicability of the principle of animal dignity.
