MENTAL HEALTH OF THE FAMILIES OF THE VICTIMS OF THE MILITARY DICTATORSHIP: A SENSITIVE LOOK

Abstract

In the course of this work, some issues were addressed around the psychological impact suffered by the families of the victims of the military dictatorship that took place in Brazil between 1964 and 1985, using as a reference the Brazilian cinematographic work "Ainda Sou Aqui" (2024) directed by Walter Salles, inspired by the literary work of the same title by the author Marcelo Rubens Paiva. It discussed how the feature film presents a sensitive and introspective narrative, based on real events, explores the psychic suffering of grief, trauma and resilience. In this study we aim to promote discussions about the mental effects suffered by the families of the victims of the dictatorial period and the violation of human rights that occurred at that time, in addition to contributing to the community with a humanist view of the events.
